History of Momoclo

Officially announced in 17 May 2008, selected members from Stardust Promotions formed Momoiro Clover. It was renamed to Momoiro Clover Z on 10th
April 2011.
Known for their unconventional yet energetic performance, Momoiro Clover started to build their fanbase.

They are usually known as Momoclo or Momoclo Chan. Fans of momoclo are known as Mononofu.

Spring 2008: With only one photography session, Gen 0 members were revealed on the web. Members: Takagi Reni, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura Manami,
Yumikawa Runa, Takai Tsukina.

Spring 2008: The group’s name was decided with 6 members in it. Members: Takagi Reni, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura Manami, Momota Kanako, Tamai Shiori,
Takai Tsukina.

End July 2008: Takai Tsukina announces her graduation. She moved on to SKE48 after that. Remaining members: Takagi Reni, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura
Manami, Momota Kanako, Tamai Shiori.

9th August 2008: During a on-the-road live at Yoyogi Park, Fujishiro Sumire joined. Members: Takagi Reni, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura Manami, Fujishiro
Sumire, Momota Kanako, Tamai Shiori.

23 Nov 2008: In one of their lives, Yukina Kashiwa, Hayami Akari and Sasaki Ayaka joined. Members: Takagi Reni, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura Manami,
Fujishiro Sumire, Yukina Kashiwa, Momota Kanako, Hayami Akari, Tamai Shiori, Sasaki Ayaka.

29th Dec 2008: During 3-B Junior Live, Wagawa Miyu, Ikura Manami and Fujishiro Sumire graduated. Ikura Manami and Fujishiro Sumire formed
Creamy Parfait later.
Remaining members: Takagi Reni, Yukina Kashiwa, Momota Kanako, Hayami Akari, Tamai Shiori, Sasaki Ayaka.

9 March 2009: Yukina Kashiwa graduates. Remaining members: Takagi Reni, Momota Kanako, Hayami Akari, Tamai Shiori, Sasaki Ayaka.

26 July 2009: During Star Fest, Ariyasu Momoka joined in. Members: Takagi Reni, Momota Kanako, Ariyasu Momoka, Hayami Akari, Tamai Shiori,
Sasaki Ayaka.

10 April 2011: During “Nakano Sun Plaza” live, Hayami Akari announces her withdrawal from Momoiro Clover. Members: Takagi Reni, Momota Kanako,
Ariyasu Momoka, Tamai Shiori, Sasaki Ayaka. Group was later renamed to Momoiro Clover Z.
Group History

2008
17 May: Held their first event during a Stardust Third Section audition in Kawasaki Iidabashii Ramla. The song “Ano Sora he Mukatte” was sang and
Momoiro Clover was formed.

July – Sept: In a park beside NHK Hall, Yoyogi Park, Momoclo performed there for a few months. During that period, they treated themselves as idols and
photography and videography were allowed. As it was near NHK Hall, Momoclo’s aim during that time was to go for Kouhaku Uta Gakkusen. During the
Summer period, Yoyogi Park disallowed the use of amps. This made the management switch locations.

Oct – Jan: With a new location in Iidabashi Ramla Station building, Momoclo held once a month lives.

29 Dec: Held by their agency, Momoclo sold their Omnibus CD during 3-B Jr LIVE. The CD includes some of the songs they performed regularly, for eg,
Ano Sora he.
2009
Jan – July: With a collaboration live between Stardust and Ishimaru Electronic in Akihabara, Momoclo held performances once every one or two months.

2 May: During a live performance in Pacifico Yokohama, Momoclo announces their CD debut under Happy Music Record. Debut date: 22nd July.

24 May – 16 Aug: Sponsored by Yamada Electronics, Momoclo held a nationwide tour. Entitled “Momoiro Clover Japan Tour 2009 Momoiro
Typhoooooon!~” the tour covered a total of 24 shops with 104 free performances been held. During the Summer breaks, the girls slept in the wagon of
their vehicle and travelled around to perform. This carried on for a while. On 13 Aug, headlights of their wagon had to be used as spotlights as the lighting
equipments for the Kawasaki Shop was down.

5th Aug: Momoiro Clover Indies debuts: Momoiro Punch was released.

19 – 23 Sept (Silver Week): A “Momoiro Clover Champion Carnival Akiba 5 Days” concert were been held at Akihabara UDX Theatre. Each day, they had
to perform 3 times for 5 days in a roll. One the last day last performance, it was their first full house live. It was also this performance where they used their
costumes for “Mirai He Susume!”

3rd Oct – 23 Nov: Nationwide Tour “Momoiro Clover ’09 Shinshuu Giant Series” was been held. The concluding performance was held on 23 Nov at the
rooftop of a Ikebukuro department store.

11 Nov: Momoclo releases Second Single, Mirai he Susume!” under the indies category.

2010

3rd March: With the presence of mass media and fans who supported them since the beginning, Stardust announced that Momoclo will have their major
debut under Universal Music Japan.

6th March – 10th May: Momoclo Major Tour 2010 was held. The tour centred around Akihabara where fans from other idol groups took part as well.

5th May: Momoclo’s major debuts with the release of single, Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo. With the shift to Universal Music Japan, an official fan club, Momori
kobuta to yukaina Nakamatachi” (The pink little piglets and their happy friends) was started. (Fan club stopped it’s activities in March 2011.)

7th and 8th August: Took part in “Tokyo Idol Festival 2010 @ Shinagawa. It was their chance to appeal to fans of other idol groups.

23 Aug: Press conference for new single that will be released under King Record was been held. As there was also a shift in the recording company, the
members wore wedding dresses in this event and made it felt as if it was a “marriage into King Records”.

19th Sept – 23 Nov: “Momoclo’s Second Debut Tour – Aki no Jin~ Tenka wo tori ni Ikuze~~!! (Autumn’s Formation – Let’s Take over the world!) starts.
Starting from Chiba Prefecture to Yoyogi Park, a total of 37 live performances were been held. The last performance which was held at Yoyogi Park had
3000 fans gathered.

10th Nov: Second single, Pinky Jones was released.

11th Dec: During the half-time of “K-1 World GP 2010 Final”, Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo was performed.

12th Dec: A collaboration concert with Shiritsu Ebichuu and Miniture Bears, the three idol groups performed at “Kotoshi no last wa Zen-in Shuugo!~ DD
Daikangei deta”. Three sessions were been held for that event. Ticketing queue started at 5am or earlier: 2 hours before they officially started selling
them at 7am.

24th Dec: Held at Nihon Seinen Kan (Japan Youth Gymnasium), Momoclo held “Momoiro Christmas in Nippon Seinen Kan~ Dappi” (Dappi means
shedding). General tickets were sold out within 30mins of release. Limited edition CD, Momokuri, which includes songs like “Kimi Yuki” and a few other
songs were sold only on that day.

2011

10th Jan – 21st Mar (Originally planned): “Momoclo New Spring Spectacle Tour – Mirai Bowl Yatte Kita” started. In the concert on 16th Jan, Hayami Akari
announced her graduation from Momoclo on the 10th April. Soon after that, the tour was cancelled due to the Tsunami that occured on 11th March.

25th Feb: Momoclo had a two-men live performance with rock band, “Shinsei Kamatte chan” for “HMV The 2Man~ Minna Nakayokudekirukana”. It was
held at Shibuya-AX.

9th Mar: Third single, Mirai Bowl and Chai Maxx was released.

10th April: In Nakano Sun Plaza, “Momoclo Haru no ichi Daiji~ Mabushisa no naka ni Kimi ga ita~” (Momoclo Spring’s Affair – There you are, among the
dazzling brightness) was held. It was the last concert where the six girls (Kanako, Reni, Shiorin, Aarin, Momoka, Akarin) performed together. General
tickets were soild out within minutes. The concert was separated into two portions: Pt 1: Momoclo All Stars 2011. Pt 2: Hayami Akari Final.. Soshite…
After the second part ended, the group’s name was change from “Momoiro Clover” to “Momoiro Clover Z”. Members do not know of the change until it
was announced on screen.

11th April – 17th April: “Momoclo Chan Presents: Momoiro Clover Z’s Seven Tests and Trials” was held. Members took part in talk shows from various
celebs. In the last day, they managed to perform in Lily Franky’s live performance at Zanji Bar Night. They were the only idol group there, and it was a
chance to appeal to fans of rock music since it was a rock festival.

14th May: A free live, “Momoiro Clover Z Live at Sendai – Tsuyoi Nippon, Mirai he Susume!” (Strong Japan, Onwards to the future) was been held.

20th May – 3rd July: Their first tour after a change in name, “Momoclo Fantastic 2011 – Z de Ikutte Kimetan da Z!” was held. Held at all the Zepps at
Nagoyam Sapporo, Oosaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo. It was their first tour where tickets were immediately sold out. In the finale concert at Zepp Tokyo, it was
their first time trying to perform three sessions of 2 hrs per session live (That’s in total more than 7-8 hrs!!) A total of 64 songs were sang.

6th July: 4th single, “Z Den Setsu, Owari naki Kakumei” and 5th single “D no Junou” were released at the same time.

27 July: First Album, Battle and Romance was released.

20th Aug: Held at Yomiuri Land, they held “Summer Dive 2011 ~ Gokurakumon kara Konnichiwa~” (Greetings from Gokurakumon). It was an outdoor live
that gathered 6000 fans.

9th Sept: Their first overseas live performance at Germany during “Dortmund Expo 2011”.

11th Oct: Took part in Kishidan, “Kyokutou Rock n Roll High School ~ Momoclo chan ni Aechau~” live.

15 Oct: Took part in “Loud Park 11” where they performed with Heavy Metal Band, Animetal USA.
